三跺脚乐队取名于云南省南部的一种脍炙人口的歌舞形式,并把这种云南少数民族文化中的传统音乐形式带入了新的世纪.在来源于加勒比海的雷鬼节奏与如 FELA KUTI之类的非洲音乐家的表演风格的双重影响下, 三跺脚乐队将现代音乐节奏与传统云南音乐中的鼓点相结合形成自己的音乐风格. 同时,三跺脚乐队采用了来自欧洲法国的DUB的音乐方式,即通过运用电子声效及现场数码操作技术来令加强他们的音乐的灵动性和空间感.传统的云南乐器演奏 和唱腔把人们带往云南那绵延不绝的大山中.同时通过吉他,萨克司和笛子来表现出西式的曲风.在歌词方面运用了普通话,云南方言,少数民族方言,英语及法语 从而营造一个能与观众对话的生动的现场气氛.三跺脚乐队是在中国现今环境巨大的改变下诞生的一种真正的世界音乐.
3 Step - reggae dub from guangzhou and yunnan：
3STEP takes its name from a popular song and dance from the southern part of Yunnan province (south-central China), and brings the traditional music of minority cultures in Yunnan into the new millennium. Influenced by the reggae rhythms of Caribbean artists, as well as the performance styles of African artists like Fela Kuti, modern rhythms mesh with the traditional drum-driven sounds of Yunnan music. 3STEP draws on the French and European dub music technique of incorporating electronic sounds and live digital manipulation to intensify their ethereal sound. Traditional Yunnan instruments and singing styles transport the listener to the mountains of Yunnan, while guitar, saxophone, and flute integrate Western improvised styles. Lyrics in Mandarin, Yunnan dialect, minority dialects, English, and French go further to create a lively dialogue with the audience. 3STEP is a truly global sound inspired by the atmosphere of dynamic change in China today.
